Introduction
When stopping, oil enters the chamber and then flows into the circuit when operation starts again so even if starting takes a long time, this coupling can prevent excessive slipping and oil overheating. Therefore, it delivers maximum power with satisfactory slipping to limit the starting torque within 140%. In particular, it is useful for conveyor belts demanding low starting torques.

Distinctive features
The chamber-type fluid coupling packs mainly oil to the maximum (“O” point) for use and here, the starting torque is about 180–200% of the motor rating. However, when in need of using the starting torque up to 160% or below (consider and judge the belt during conveyor belt designing), reduce the amount of oil with the H-shaped fluid coupling (“4” point or below) to reduce the starting torque. In this case, however, the slip increases and the oil temperature inside the coupling excessively rises making it difficult to select the right dimensions.
To reduce such inconveniences, an H-shaped fluid coupling is attached to the chamber for use.
The fluid coupling with a chamber attached has oil entering its chamber when stopping occurs and then flows into the circuit when operation starts again so even if starting takes a long time, it prevents excessive slipping and oil overheating. Therefore, maximum power is delivered with satisfactory slipping to limit the starting torque within 140%. The chamber-type fluid coupling is particularly useful for conveyor belts demanding low starting torques (limited torque).
