The materials are filtered through the filter cloth, which is vital for the filtration effect; thus, the filter cloth shall be kept always flat and clean, with holes unblocked. It is noticeable to clean the filter plate and filter cloth in process of discharging, especially the sealing surface, to avoid some materials are attached on the sealing surface of the lower part of the filter plate in process of discharging, which may result in reduction in sealing performance of filter plate.
In the old type of filter press, the cloth is usually fixed on the frame. The main advantage of such filter press is the convenience to replace the filter cloth, and disadvantages include low efficiency, poor filtering effect and easily broken filter plate; Filter chamber of the chamber filter press is composed of two adjacent recessed filter plates and the filter cloth is fixed on each filter plate. Such chamber filter press features higher efficiency, better effect and more durable filter plate (at same conditions); in addition, as the automatic degree is higher and the filter cloth washing device is also automatic, the filter cloth is not necessary to be replaced frequently.
