Nowadays the bananas in India market are mainly kept in Ripening chambers for postharvest maturity. This kind of chambers costs a lot during the construction and needs everyday large quantity of incomings for reducing the average cost of ethylene gas.

For a few farmers, they still dip the bananas in ethephon liquid to make the fruits ripe after drying them. This method is easy to apply and no need of large construction, but the ethephon liquid has residu on bananas, if people consume for long period, there will be risk of harm to health.

The third way of ripening banana is to use the ethylene ripener with sachet package, farmers can just put it in the lining bag with bananas, then enclose the package, for only 3 days, the bananas will be fully ripened.
