Premium Yellow Mountain Mao Feng

Yellow Mountain Maofeng is a green tea grown in the foothills of the Yellow Mountain range where it is almost always foggy and humid. It is considered one of China's most famous teas.

Huang Shan Mao Feng’s reputation is based on the delicacy both of the pluck and the way it is manufactured. Only the already mature bud and the first adjacent leaf are picked. They are rolled by hand to the shape that is the most recognisable among all the teas – the ‘sparrow’s tongue’, with its pale green and gilded color.

This lot of tea from the yellow mountains, one of the most esteemed in China, is the result of a particularly high standard of plucking and processing. Mao Feng is recognised throughout China as a high-quality tea, rich in buds; consequently, there are many Mao Feng teas, some green and some black, coming from different provinces. Huang Shan Mao Feng is an exceptional tea and is considered to be the very finest of its type by the Chinese. This reputation for excellence derives partly from its provenance. The Huang Shan, one of the most famous mountain ranges in China for green teas, provides its plantations – all situated at altitudes of between 300 and 800 metres (985–2,625 ft) – with ideal agroclimatic and topographic conditions.
