IV butteryfly winged peripheral catheter

IV butterfly catheter ,which is also called winged IV catheter, is an important peripheral IV catheter in the family of IV needle catheter. Such cannula IV with fixed or movable wings can be fixed on patient body with threads.

The function of small holes in the two wings of IV butterfly catheter is fixing the cannula IV on patients body. Nurses get threads though the holes and then fix the peripheral iv catheter. 

The venous indwelling needle is also called the venous cannula. In replacing ordinary stainless steel needles in occasions requiring high frequency and long time drug infusion in the body, the rate of infusion leakage can be significantly reduced. The core components include the soft catheter / sleeve that can be retained in the blood vessel, and the needle core of the stainless steel puncture. When used, the catheter and needle core are punctured into the blood vessel. When the catheter is all entered into the blood vessel, it is removed from the core of the needle, and only the flexible catheter is placed in the blood vessel, so that it can be treated by infusion.

The above design is made on the basis of IV butterfly catheter with movable wings.

It is a simplified version of movable wing type. The small holes in the wings still have the function of fixing IV needle catheter with threads.

However, production cost is reduced as fewer molds are used and production procedures are simplified. For this reason the prices of fixed wing type are lower than movable wing type winged IV catheter.

The different colors of the wings show different specifications of IV butterfly catheter.

Current development aim:

We are now developing new type of IV catheters without reflux device. That is, exhaust device will be directly connected with needle seat. This will further reduce cost of IV cannula.
