Indole

Introduction:

Indole is extracted from coal tar or washing oil, through acid washing, alkali washing, distillates, cooling, crystallization, centrifugal filtration, to get the fraction of indole.

Source:

From the wash oil fraction extracted in high temperature coal tar, containing about 0.10%-0.16% indole. General can be extracted from coal tar and oil distillate. Will wash oil fraction by alkali washing and acid washing, get methylnaphthalene, then distillation in high efficiency tower 60 theoretical plates, cut out the 225-256 C fraction, with potassium hydroxide melting. The reaction is 2-4h at 170-240 C and stirred until the bubble is stopped. Statically, the lower layer of indole potassium is released and cooled, and the oil is washed with benzene at low temperature. Then the crude indole oil was hydrolyzed at 50-70 C, and distilled in 20 distillation plates of theoretical plate. The flow rate was 8-10:1, and the top temperature was 170-256 C distillate, cooling, crystallizing and centrifugation, then refined indole oil was obtained. After squeezing, the oil content is below 3%, and the purified indole with the purity of 99% is recrystallized with ethanol.
