 Pipe linings of alumina ceramic cylinders have the following advantages:

Application:

Wear-resistant alumina pipe is widely used in pneumatic conveying and hydraulic conveying for coal fired power plant, steel plant, chemical plant, metallurgy, cement, coal washeries, coal mining and other industries.

·In coal fire power stations, wear-proof aluminum oxide ceramic tubes are widely applied in conveying system of bottom ash to protect against wear.

·In hard coal mining industry, wear-resisting alumina pipes are used to protect pipelines against abrasion of coal dust and tailings for backfilling.

·In coal washery plant, the conveying pipelines of heavy media with solids are protected by wear resistant alumina linings.

In today’s competitive world market, the operation interruption and production losses are unacceptable. So the continuous transportation of bulk materials in coal fired power plants, steel, cement and other industries are very important. Therefore, a wide range of wear resistant ceramic materials has been developed during the conveyor linings because of its special characteristics.

 

The coal will bring great impact to the equipments during transportation in the coal handling system of power station. The weakest place is the gap between clingy ceramic tiles during material handling. The material grains not only wear the pipe but also have impact on it. This is why the pipelines lined by tiles are easily worn out and fallen off after short-time using. So for very severe abrasion places in conveying systems, alumina ceramic tiles are not available and the abrasion resistant piping components with internal linings should be used.

 

The valve in the desulfurization system can change the flow during the switching process, so the slurry with grain at high speed will wear out the pipe at the end of valves. The liquid in the tube contains much sulfite which is very corrosive, so usually nonmetallic pipes like rubber tubes and pvc pipes are used to avoid corrosion, but the wear resistance of these tubes are poor that the straight pipe at the end of valves always worn out. The integrated pipes with good abrasion and corrosion resistant are developed to well solve the problems of abrasion. Because the lined ceramic tube is one piece, the slurry couldn’t permeate through it. Moreover, the ceramic tube has high hardness and the process by isostatic pressing dry powder is favorable to the uniformity of ceramic crystal structure, so its wear resistance is better than ceramic tile’s with the same material.

 

The experiment shows that the service life of wear resisting alumina ceramic tubes is at least 5 times longer than ceramic tiles of the same thickness.
