This alloy is  widely used in aeroengine in foreign countries and the ground gas turbine under  650 ? work rotating  parts and fasteners, a longer service life. It is also used in aviation  engines, and is a mature alloy that has been tested.
 Alloy forging,  if the process parameter is selected or operated not right, its performance  will show the obvious direction, and may cause the notch sensitivity, but as  long as the strict process, this phenomenon will not occur. The expansion  coefficient of the alloy is close to that of the iron alloy steel, so that the  two materials can be connected to the heat account without special provisions.

The Nimonic 901alloy has good thermal forming  property.

  • Forge

The  larger ingot is not allowed to cool directly to room temperature, but should be  moved directly into the forging furnace to prevent cooling and reheating  through the aging temperature range. Ingots should be forged to the maximum  length of 205mm square billet, and then quickly cold and trim. When forging,  the technological parameters should be strictly controlled to prevent the  occurrence of serious and uneven grain size, which can ensure the stable  performance.

  • Weld

Argon  arc welding can be done with Nimonic 901 alloy wire.

  • Part heat treatment process.

The  heat treatment of engine turbine disc should avoid heating too fast.
