Similiar as the wool, the alpaca have the mainly feathers of the wool:

Wool Features: Healthy,Natural,Eco - Friendly,Thermoregulating,constant humidity,fire-retardent,anti-microbial,Hypoallergenic.

1.Thermoregulating.32.7c is wools constant temperature and this temperature equates to the core temperature required for comfortable deep sleep.

2.Constant Humidity.Wool  absorbs moisture when humidity is high and releases it when the air is dry.Wool can absorb 40% of its own weight in moisture but still feel dry to the touch.These factors promote a good nights sleep,particularly for restless children and babies.

3.Elastic and Resilient.Wool has  natural elasticity even after being compressed for long periods of time.This is because animal protein keeps its natural crimp.

4.Fire Retardent.Unlike cotton,wool is naturally fire retardent and difficult to ignite and so can be safely stored.

5.Wool is resistent to dust,static and antimicrobial mites.It is Hypoallergenic.

And the Alpaca fiber more fine, more softer than normal wool fiber. So it will be more suitable to make the quilt.
