Corrosion Resistance

304 Seamless pipe is resistant to air, steam, water and other weak corrosive medium and acid, alkali, salt and other chemical etching of the corrosion of medium steel pipe. Also known as rust-proof steel pipe.

The corrosion resistance of 304 seamless tubes is determined by the alloying elements contained in the steel. Chromium is the basic element of stainless steel to obtain corrosion resistance, when the chromium content in steel reached 12% or so, chromium and corrosive medium of oxygen in the steel surface to form a thin layer of oxide film (self passivation film), can prevent further corrosion of the steel matrix. In addition to chromium, stainless steel seamless tube commonly used alloy elements are nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium, copper, nitrogen, etc., to meet the various uses of stainless steel microstructure and performance requirements.
