SMC Tactile Tiles
Tactile tile is one of the typical applications of SMC (sheet molding compound) material. Firstly SMC material is colorfast and UV stable. It is weather resistant and can last for over 30 years in outdoor environment. In order to reach better wear resistance property, SMC material is specially formulated. 

SMC material has high strength to weight ratio which makes the tiles very light compared to concrete, metal or stone tiles and the shipping, installation costs are also reduced because of the light weight. It is very design flexible so it can be made to be thicker, thinner, with different surface structures, and can be designed into different shapes like square for straight streets or fan-shaped for street corners. Most importantly, SMC tiles are tactile. Touching stick makes sounds when it touches the tiles so to give a warning signal to the disabled people of street cross or any other dangerous entrances for them.
