Metal Spiral wound gasket Depending on the chemical compatibility requirements, the filler and winding material can be changed.Composed of a steel centering (outer) ring, a spiral wound sealing strip (filler) and an inner ring made of special steel, spiral wound gaskets are created by winding alternating strips of metal and filler material.

Metal Spiral wound gasket  are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 standards. Quality Assurance complies to API Specification Q1 and ISO 9001:2000.

There are four styles of standard Durlon® Spiral Wound Gaskets:

  • Style R- Sealing element

  • Style RIR-Sealing element with inner ring

  • Style CG- Sealing element (D) centering ring (R) which acts as a compression stop

  • Style CGI- Sealing element (D) centering ring (R) and inner ring (I) which protects the sealing element from erosion, inward buckling and improves radial strength
