1.Intended Use

(1)The Dengue NS1 Antigen Rapid Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of dengue virus NS1 antigen in whole Blood, serum, plasma to aid in the diagnosis of Dengue viral infection. For professional in vitro diagnostic use only.

2.Expected Value

(2)Dengue NS1 antigen is expected to be detected as early as 1 day after the onset of fever and may persist up to 9 days in both primary and secondary dengue infections. But if anti-NS1 antibodies are produced, the detection of NS1 is inhibited. Primary dengue is characterized by the presence of detectable IgM antibodies 3-5 days after the onset infection. Secondary dengue is characterized by the elevation of specific IgG levels 1-2 days after the onset of infection and in the majority of cases this is generally accompanied by an elevation of IgM levels.
