How much resistance does bob provide for working on power strikes? more or less than a 70 pound hanging bag?

Answer:

It all depends on how you use / fill BOB. Because this is a standing bag, the higher up BOB is adjusted on the base, the less resistance you will get. That being said you can get very solid resistance from BOB if you properly fill the base. Filled with just water you can get about 250 lbs in the base. If you completely fill with sand and then add water (the sand will absorb about 50% more water without taking up extra space) then you can get BOB up over 450 lbs. He is not going anywhere with that setup. Certainly he would provide even more resistance than a hanging bag of 70 lbs.

How are you supposed to drain the base?

Answer:

Tip it on its side. Unscrew the cap on the pedestal.When it gets light enough, lift it to drain the rest if the water. Leave the cap off, letting the last of the water evaporate.
